Florida HUD Housing Programs

The Florida HUD Housing Program is a part of the federal government Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which was established in 1965 to create policies for housing and city expansion. Currently, Florida HUD’s primary mission is to enforce fair housing laws in order to create a more suitable living environment for all Americans.

Florida HUD Housing Programs

One of the main goals of HUD in Florida is to make Florida housing affordable and to make the opportunity for homeownership available to families who are on a limited income. This is done via programs that offer some of the following services:

• Counseling for first-time home buyers,

• Help with loan acquisition,

• Advice on avoiding foreclosure,

• Rental assistance for low-income families.

I’m not sure where to start. I’ll be 58 this month, had a stroke January 2012. Received Long Term Disability until February of this year. Started to look for work, was living in rental home in Clearwater, and home I was renting had a sink hole. Moved in a rush, was living with adult daughter, her boyfriend, and her kids at that point. They put furniture in storage, Daughter and kids went to live in Pensacola area with her friends. I left with what I could put in my car and am staying with adult son in Kissimmee. Daughter-In-Law wants me to be out of home by September because they are planning a move to Texas in the near future. Can’t get unemployment, job, health care, pay past bills. Where can I go for help. Would like to stay in St Cloud area if possible.

We’re considering moving out of our 4 bedroom, 2 bath home in Lake County Florida because we want to downsize.

Where can I find the requirements to be able to rent out our home on your Federally subsidized program? The website doesn’t seem to cover that part.

I can also be reached by text or phone call at 407-462-9077. Please leave a message if I don’t pick up… I still work full time.
