Texas HUD Housing Programs

The Texas HUD Housing Program is a part of the federal government Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which was established in 1965 to create policies for housing and city expansion. Currently, Texas HUD’s primary mission is to enforce fair housing laws in order to create a more suitable living environment for all Americans.

Texas HUD Housing Programs

One of the main goals of HUD in Texas is to make Texas housing affordable and to make the opportunity for homeownership available to families who are on a limited income. This is done via programs that offer some of the following services:

• Counseling for first-time home buyers,

• Help with loan acquisition,

• Advice on avoiding foreclosure,

• Rental assistance for low-income families.

Smyrna is a great town. Nearby, in Vinings there are tons of cool condos and apearmtnts in this little “live, work, play” area. Smyrna is only about 15-20 mins outside the city which I ADORE. The diversity here is amazing. The inner city is comprised of a rich mix of black, white and anything in between. Our housing market is ripe for the picking if you are a buyer! It seems like every area of Atlanta and the metro is up and coming. The economy close to Atlanta is great. South GA has a bad rep, for a reason. But Atlanta has jobs galore. Norcross is a great place for IT jobs. Atlanta is great for advertising, bartending, inside sales, outside sales, renovations, construction/ const. management, financial planning, massage therapy anything. I am a member of a networking group exclusive to Atlanta so I know what is out there. Also, the economy is great for small business owners because unions don’t fare well here. Unions tend to make it impossible for the little guy to compete. Come on! I love it here! I live about 10 minutes from Smyrna. Nearby is also Sandy Springs, which is awesome.
